On this day in 2015;Police in Delta State burst a syndicate of politicians and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who broke into the commission’s strong room in Asaba and stole original copies of 137 result sheets used for the last governorship and House of Assembly election in the state.

police recovered 47 completed copies of original result sheets,  Form EC8A for the governorship election held in parts of Warri South and 16 completed copies of original result sheets, form EC8A (1) for House of Assembly held in parts of Warri South from the suspects.

Also on this day in 2015;At least 68 people were killed while several others sustained injuries as Boko Haram insurgents invaded Baanu Village in Nganzai local government area of Borno State.

A resident of the area, Yuram Musa, who fled to Maiduguri to avoid the attack, said the insurgents came on horses at about 8:30 shooting sporadically and killing everyone they came across. He said: “We had to flee into the bush and hide and after they left, we return back to pick some of our belongings. I counted 68 corpses, some were slaughtered, while others were with gunshot wounds. The number of those killed is worrisome as corpses littered the streets of the village.
And on this day in 2015; Ijaw Youths Council called on President Muhammadu Buhari to extend his anti-corruption war to 1999 to cover the Obasanjo era so as to be taken seriously over his anti-corruption war.

The Ijaw youths, who are kinsmen of Jonathan, wondered why Buhari should skip the Obasanjo era and concentrate his probe on Jonathan’s administration, accusing him of having a hidden agenda against their son.
The National President of the IYC, Udengs Eradiri, who signed the statement said it was suspicious for Buhari to choose to probe only Jonathan’s administration and leave out Obasanjo.

Atiku Reacts To Killing Of 43 Borno Farmers By Boko Haram

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to rejig the security architecture of Nigeria following the continuous attacks of Boko Haram in the nation.

This is coming following the beheading of 43 farmers in Zabarmari, less than 20 km from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital by suspected Boko Haram members.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Atiku expressed sadness over the tragic incident, describing it as heartbreaking.

The former presidential candidate condoled with families of the slain farmers in Borno State.

He wrote:

“Heartbreaking. Words fail me. The lives of our citizens should be worth much more than this. The rejig of the nation’s security architecture is long overdue. May their souls rest in peace and may their families be comforted.”
