Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero has been charged by the FA with violent conduct. The striker appeared to have swung his elbow in the face of Winston Reid on Sunday when City faced West Ham.
Although the act was not seen by the referee, he will serve a three-match ban if he’s found guilty. City went on to win against West Ham but a three-match ban for their influential striker will mean he will miss the Manchester Derby on September 10.
He has until 6pm on Wednesday 31 August to reply.
According to the FA “Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite match officials.
Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.
For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous.”
