Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane has reportedly turned down a €40million move to rejoin his former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The 23-year-old defender has struggled to find playing time at Real Madrid, as Zinedine Zidane still prefers the veteran pair of Sergio Ramos and Pepe at the heart of his defence.
While many believe the move would have guaranteed the player a starting XI at United, Varane opted to continue to develop at Real Madrid, hoping to eventually replace Pepe, who is already 33.
