Electricity: Lagos To Experience Blackout Today Says TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, Lagos Region, yesterday announced that many parts of the state will experience blackout between 10am and 1pm today (Monday).

According to the TCN, the affected areas are Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Alagbon, Apapa, Ijora, Surulere, Itire, Oshodi, Mushin; the Nigerian Airforce Base, Shogunle, and their environs.

The company said in a statement on Sunday that the disruption of electricity supply to customers in these locations was a result of the need to carry out an urgent maintenance work on the Akangba 132KV transmission substation.

The Public Relations Officer, TCN, Lagos Region, Mrs. Celestina Osin, said in the statement, “The reason for the planned outage is to enable the MBH Contractor carry out a very important repair work on the Itire 132KV Transmission Line 1 and the Ojo 132KV Transmission Line 2 from which the areas are fed electricity for better service to them.

“During the period the outage will last, the 4X90 MVA power transformers and another 150MVA power transformer will be out of service at the Akangba 132KV substation in order to provide a safe working space for the workers. We promise to restore supply to all the affected areas as soon as the work is concluded.

“We sincerely apologise for the short notice on the outage and regrets inconveniences this will cause all that will be affected.”

    This shouldn’t be in the news, they have been taking it for days and not giving reasons for it and now they are saying 10 to 1 like there use to be light always at those hours.

Recall that last night, October 20, Nigerian security men shot and killed some #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate.

Sequel to the above, Nigerians are now asking questions as to who masterminded the Lekki massacre?

Taking to Twitter, Comedian AY said once who controls toll gate, who ordered removal of CCTV from the toll gate is known, then the “who?” question becomes answered.

AY tweeted, “Who controls tollgate?
Who ordered for removal of light from the tollgate?
Who ordered the removal of cctv from the tollgate?
Once you know who has the authority over the above, you would know who was responsible for the shootings today. I am in my house come and kill me too”

Bola Ahmed Tinubu denies having a hand in the Lekki Massacre, admits that he’s about to leave the country

Nigerian politician and national leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has denied having a hand in the Lekki Massacre.

His phone number reportedly leaked online and angry youths have been sharing videos and voice records from their conversation with him.

They accused him of aiding and supporting the shooting of peaceful protesters at Lekki toll gate because of the amount of money he has reportedly lost due to the protests.

Tinubu who had previously served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 however denied being responsible for the killings. He said he has no control of the Nigerian army, and he has no idea of who caused the killings.
