Presidency Debunks Report Of Buhari’s Ill-Health

buhari-sadThe Presidency yesterday denied an exclusive report by an online news medium that President Muhammadu Buhari was ill and receiving treatment at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for an ear infection.
According to the report, Mr. Buhari was suffering from Meniere Disease in his left ear, which it claimed had impaired the president’s hearing in recent times and if there was no improvement in the treatment he is currently receiving, will seek medical solution abroad.
The report, which attributed the disease to old age, also linked it to the president’s recent decisions to cancel scheduled trips to Lagos, Cross River, Rivers and Senegal.
The report by the online news medium, further coincided with a claim by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that Buhari was seriously ill and may be flown abroad for treatment any moment although recent photos of the president taken at the State House Abuja, seemed to put that speculation to rest.
Reacting to the latest report, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, dismissed Buhari’s reported ill-health as false, insisting that his boss was fine and discharging his duties as President of Nigeria.
“It is not true. It is the imagination of the writer. The President is fine and has been performing his duties”, Adesina said.
