Nigeria Will Overcome Current Challenges – Kumuyi

kumuyi-360x225Nigerians have been advised to stop worrying themselves over the current socio-economic and security challenges confronting the country.
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, gave the advice yesterday in Warri, Delta State ahead of his one-day bible study programme in the city.
According to the popular cleric, who celebrated his 75 birthday on Monday, Nigeria would soon overcome and become better.
Pastor Kumuyi, however, called for dialogue between the federal government and Niger Delta stakeholders with a view to ending the renewed militancy in the region.
He also said all hands must be on the deck to work for Nigeria’s progress and fight against its division.
He said: “We should not worry ourselves too much on the issue. We should rather think of how we can move the country forward because too much talk about restructuring does not mean Nigeria will break up.
“The solution is that we should begin to dialogue. Stakeholders should reason together and see the way forward, instead of accusing one another. What we are interested in is how to solve the problem. What are the expectations of both sides so that we can move forward?”
Kumuyi noted that comments by Nigerians on the economic situation were normal, adding that they were indications that the country deserved better than the realities on the ground.
“The reason people are commenting is because Nigeria deserves to be better. The economy has been low, but we are getting out of it. With prayers, I know we will get better”, he said.
