Al-Makura Receives Salary Screening Report

Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura has received the salary screening report for political office holders, public and civil servants in the state.

The Governor had set up a 23-man committee to review the salary structure of political office holders, public and civil servants in the state.

The report was submitted to the governor at the council chambers of the government house in Lafia, the state capital.

Al-Makura promised to look into the recommendations to ensure they conform to the national minimum wage structure.

He says it is illogical for the state to be paying above the approved national minimum wage while receiving one of the lowest revenue from the federal allocation considering the current economic downturn.
