Democracy Day: FG Declares Monday Public Holiday

FGNThe Federal Government has declared Monday, May 30, 2016 as a public holiday to mark the 2016 Democracy Day.
The declaration of public holiday was done by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on behalf of the Federal Government.
The minister, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Bassey Akpanyung, assured Nigerians that with the signing into law of the 2016 Appropriation Act, the country would witness a “New Deal” with its full implementation, especially of the Social Intervention Programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the populace.
The statement further said, “Dambazau congratulates Nigerians on the attainment of one year in office of President Muhammadu Buhari and enjoined all to continue to support the President in his sustained effort in building a peaceful, enduring and democratic legacy.
“The minister wishes all Nigerians a happy Democracy Day celebration”.
