APC Describes Minister Of State For Agric, Lokpobiri, As A PDP Mole In Buhari’s Cabinet

Heineken Lokpobiri

The crisis threatening to consume the Bayelsa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took a turn for the worse yesterday as the party leadership in the state claimed that Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri is not a card-carrying member of the party.

The factional chairman of Bayelsa APC, Chief Tiwei Timipa Orunimighe, made the allegation in his response to the minister’s denial that he did not pay a former governor of the state, Timipre Sylva, before he was nominated to take the ministerial position meant for the state in the Federal Executive Council.

Mr. Orunimighe challenged Lokpobiri to tell Nigerians which organ of the party issued him the membership card of APC.

He accused the minister of being a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and serving as a mole for an unnamed Southwest PDP governor in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

“It is common knowledge that the minister has still not resigned from the PDP. We challenge him to produce a dated resignation letter from his party the PDP. He remains an outsider as no organ of the party has issued him a party card as at this moment.

“No wonder he continues to be a mole for a south west PDP governor. We are aware that the federal government understands the risk of keeping a mole at the highest level of government”, he said.

Mr. Orunimighe, therefore, called on both the FEC and the Minister for Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, to be cautious with sensitive information while dealing with Lokpobiri as he is merely an opposition fifth-columnist bent on spying on the APC-led federal government.
