Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has called for the adoption of concrete roads by the government in its bid to develop its infrastructure.

Speaking in Lagos on Monday at the Nigeria Summit organised by The Economist, Dangote said concrete roads are 30 percent stronger than asphalt roads.

Dangote also said his cement company has expanded so much that it now has the capacity for export worth $500 million annually. He added that the bigger plan for the Dangote Group is to be self-sufficient in terms of forex needs by 2018 – 2020, as the current forex challenges in the country affects the company in some ways.

However, the industrialist called for policies that encourage business growth.

“What businesses need is consistency in terms of policy,” Dangote said.
