A teenager is charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony, for stealing a pizza delivery driver’s car and running him over. According to the arrest affidavit, Andrew Luna, 18, and four other people stole the victim’s vehicle at the Tintara at Canyon Creek Apartments in West Austin on Monday at around 6:22 p.m.

The man was delivering pizza to one of the apartments in the complex and left his vehicle unlocked and running in the parking lot. He noticed several people walking towards his car. After delivering the pizza, the man ran back to his car and saw it slowly driving away with four or five people inside. He chased the car through the parking lot, screaming, “You stole my car!” As the car turned the corner, a male fell out of the car. The male teenager tried to make small talk with the delivery driver, the affidavit states. A few moments later, the car drove back around and picked up the teen who fell out.

The victim jumped at the open driver’s window and tried to gain control of his vehicle. He told police that he was punched several times while trying to gain control. The car was then driven through a fence, causing the delivery man to fall from the side of the car. His right leg was run over by the vehicle.

The pizza delivery man and witnesses then heard a gunshot. When officers found the teenagers, they recovered a .40 caliber Beretta handgun, which had been reported stolen to Austin Police. The victim was released from St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center after several hours of treatment.
