Arms Deal: EFCC Detains Ex-CAS

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu.

Amosu who was invited by the anti-graft detained honored EFCC invitation on Wednesday.

A senior operative with the commission told Vanguard that Amosu had been helping the agency in the investigation into the procurement of arms for the armed forces between 2007 and 2015‎.

A source in the EFCC confirmed that Amosu was invited on Wednesday over the amount which was allegedly used under his leadership for arms procurement worth N29 billion. He, then made a statement under caution to the EFCC operatives but was not allowed to go‎ home.

A probe of top military and political actors have been ‎ordered after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the probe of arms procurement.
