Nigeria In Urgent Need Of Constitutional, Not Political Change – Mimiko

Olusegun MimikoGovernor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has said the only change Nigeria needs right now, is a change in its constitution with a view to galvanizing visible national development.

He made the submission yesterday at the opening ceremony of the Ministers’ Conference held at the International Event Centre, Akure, the state capital.

Governor Mimiko said that contrary to the widely-publicised change mantra of the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government, what Nigeria needs at this crucial moment is to restructure the nation’s polity so that the federating units would be able to harness their abundant resources and create wealth for their people.

He stressed that the present constitution, which left the states and local governments at the mercy of the Federal Government, will continue to jeopardise national unity and development.

While speaking on the theme of the conference: “Transformational Leadership”,  Mimiko, who doubles as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum Chairman, noted that a transformational leader must see above his group and have the ability to communicate appropriately.

  1. The greatest need of nigeria is for God to eliminate criminals and crooks as well as looters and Godless men like MIMIKO who pretend to be God fearing but are idol worshippers and looters of our common wealth who pretend to be elders. Wicked souls that are doomed for destruction.
