Anebi gave this warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, the service regularly carries out risk assessment on government, public and personal buildings with little or no charges.
He said that the Policy Regulatory and Inspectorate (PRI) unit of the service was charged with the task of regulating new building constructions, to ensure adherence to safety regulations.

“Anybody constructing a new building should visit the FFS with his designed plan, for the plan section to affix those gadgets which will protect the building from fire.

“These are devices that will give you an alarm that something is wrong, even if you are asleep, then you will wake up.

“Such equipment are fixed in buildings to alert the owner of the building to evacuate because of danger.’’
He stressed that the installation of such devices was necessary to protect buildings from fire outbreak.

He advised Nigerians to avail themselves of the variety of services provided by the service, in order to prevent possible fire outbreaks.

Anebi further underscored the importance of compliance with safety regulations, in order to promote safety and qualitative housing in the country.
