US, UNICEF, P&G To Donate Relief Supplies To IDPs In Borno

The U.S. Mission to Nigeria will, tomorrow, November 27, join the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to donate hygiene products and personal care items provided by Procter & Gamble, a U.S. corporation, to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Borno State.

U.S. Ambassador James F. Entwistle and Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima will preside over the ceremony and offer remarks. The event will demonstrate the collective role that the U.S. government, international development partners, and the private sector are playing in providing humanitarian assistance to IDPs.

The event holds at U.S. Embassy, Plot 1075 Diplomatic Drive, Central District Area, Abuja at 11:00am.

Over 1.5 million people have been displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency which has also led to over 15,000 deaths.
