Elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai, has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari to stop selective persecution of perceived political opponents in the name of fighting corruption.

“Recent policy and non-policy actions of the new administration as promoted by some leading figures and the administration’s security and anti-graft agencies, have left much to be desired,” Yakasai said, yesterday, in a statement in Kano.

He faulted the treatment meted out on the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd.), and perceived opponents of the administration.

Yakasai disclosed that the overwhelming feeling today was that Nigeria was on a path back to dictatorship.

He, therefore, appealed to the President to ensure that justice was done to Nigerians, irrespective of their political affiliations.
