Former PDP National Chairman, Ahmadu Escapes Lynching At Audu’s 8-Day Prayer

Ahmadu-AliThe Director-General of the Goodluck Jonathan 2015 Presidential Campaign Organization, Senator Ahmadu Ali, yesterday at the eight day fidau for Prince Abubakar Audu, had a close shave with death at Ogbonicha, Ofu local government area of Kogi State.

Ali, who was former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was among those who had been penciled down as one of the enemies of progress in Igala land and so when he came to Ogbonicha, the hometown of the late Audu, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the inconclusive governorship election in Kogi, was chased and stoned by the irate youth.

It was gathered that the youth, who are believed to be APC supporters, were yet to forgive Senator Ali for the several comments he made on the podium during PDP campaigns.

Despite repeated warning notice from Prince Mohammed Abubakar Audu, Senator Ahmadu Ali and Senator Nicholas Yahaya Ugbane, had their jeeps vandalized, clothes torn as the youth unleashed their rage on these personalities, who they claim to be common enemies of Igalaland.

Prince Mohammed, the eldest son of the deceased, had told the irate youths to sheathe their sword‎ stating that it was not in the interest of his late father, who the personalities came to honour, to unleash violence on them.

Prominent among those who graced the eight day prayer at Ogbonicha were Niger State Governor Sani Bello, Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Yomi Awoniyi, Sheik Shehu Ishiaka ‎ of Abuja, Hon Rabiu Alfa of Kogi House of Assembly Ataogodo, and Suleiman Adam, chief imam of Ankpa.
