Do You Know You Can Actually Lighten Your Dark Armpit Skin Using A Potato

No one ever calls armpits “beautiful,” and for good reason.

They’re odorous, stubbly and downright embarrassing, especially if you have extra-dark skin in that area.

Like the shy girl at a middle school swim party, we cover up our pits with t-shirts so people can’t see our ingrown hairs and discolored skin.

There’s no equivalent of a pedicure for armpits, so we shave and wear too-tight turtlenecks.

As sweater season sets in, take five minutes to show your underarms some love. All it takes is, surprisingly, a potato.

It might feel strange, but applying potatoes to your pits on a regular basis will lighten your underarm skin. Potatoes boast an enzyme called catecholase, which helps restore even color to easily irritated skin. In other words, it’s perfect for your pits.

Dig through your kitchen for a raw spud before rinsing and grating a quarter cup of it into a bowl — no need to peel it. Over a sink or easily cleaned surface, apply the potato paste like a mask for your underarms. Leave it on for about half an hour.
