Ooni’s Stool May Not Be Filled Now, Says Prince

The move to fill the vacant stool of Ooni of Ile-Ife may have been in the lull, investigation has shown.

This  action was connected to both internal and external crisis that has engulfed the process of selecting and screening of candidate(s) to fill the vacant stool.
The Osun State government and Ife Kingmakers had agreed and affirmed that Giesi Ruling House should present candidate(s) to fill the stool in compliance with 1979/80 declaration.

It was also revealed that after the  state government had conveyed its decision and resolution directing the local government council to write a letter asking Giesi Ruling House to present candidate for the vacant stool, the decision triggered reactions as other ruling houses – Lafogido and Osinkola Ruling Houses – have taken legal action challenging the decision and affirmation.

However, apart from the  the suit in court, the Giesi Ruling House has been enmeshed in crisis, thus stalling the selection and screening processes of candidates presented by the ruling house.

The eight royal compounds within Giesi Ruling House are at present at loggerhead on where and how the candidate should emerge.

Few weeks ago, no fewer than 35 names had been forwarded to the Ife Kingmakers and Ife Local Government Council by all the eight royal compound with Agbedegbede royal compound having 22 candidates out of the entire list before the kingmakers while others either have  one or two candidates.

THISDAY also noted that seven out of the eight royal compounds in Giesi royal compounds have teamed up kicking against the list of names forwarded to the kingmakers.

Also, the  Moniki; Obiri; Luugba and Idu Oladere royal compound are having only one candidate each, Idu and Maniki are having three candidates while the remaining 22 is from Agbedegbede royal compounds.

Consequently, about seven royal compounds have kicked against the presentation of 35 names to the kingmakers for consideration claiming that the exercise was skewed to favour a particular royal compound which is Agbedegbede.

Speaking on the crisis  yesterday within Giesi Ruling House, Venerable Ishola Ojo from Moniki royal compound confirmed the crisis, saying  the process had been stalled because it had been wrong and unacceptable to all the seven out of eight royal compounds within Giesi Ruling House.

Ojo who accused the Chairman of the screening committee, Professor Aderibigbe, of attempting to thwart history and rubbish the stool, added that Aderibigbe played on the hegemony and ignorance of other royal compounds.
Ojo stressed  that a protest letter had been addressed to the Ife Kingmakers by seven royal families, urging them to discountenance with the list allegedly submitted to them.

He alleged that the screening exercise was a one-man show “as the Chairman of the committee, Professor Aderibigbe, single handedly dominated the scene.
The protest letter read in part: “Following the recent receipt of the letters from the Ministry of Local Government  Area and Chieftaincy Affairs, dated September 14, 2015, and letter from Ife-East Local Government dated  September 16, 2015, we the undersigned representatives from the royal compounds from Giesi Ruling House come together to protest the following anomaly:

‘The composition of the screening committee did not reflect the representatives of the entire royal compounds that constituted the Giesi Ruling House, as all members of the committee came from only Agbedegbede Royal Compound to make the committee look as if it is only Agbedegbede alone that constituted Giesi Ruling House.

‘List of the contestants from different royal compounds within the Giesi Royal House were not made known to all royal compounds concerned or the public. Also it was discovered that  criteria for screening were not spelt out for all and sundry to be abreast or appraised. History concerning other royal compounds within the Giesi Ruling House has been distorted to pave way for Agbedegbede alone to present candidate(s) to the vacant stool of Ooni of Ife.

Ojo therefore urged the state government to as a matter of urgency discard the list and properly constitute fresh screening committee that have the true picture of all royal compounds of Giesi Ruling House in the interest of peace.

He also urged the  state government  to as a matter of urgency throw away the list and call for a fresh screening by a new committee,  saying the problem would continue.

“Marrying Adesua is the second best decision I made in my adult life” – Banky W

Banky W and Adesua Etomi-Wellington are marking their third wedding anniversary today and the couple left sweet posts on Instagram.

The singer shared a video from their wedding and spoke of their love journey.

He wrote:

3 years ago, Susu and I made the decision to love each other forever. But the only reason forever is even possible, is because we made the decision to make God our foundation. And while a foundation is the part of the house that people don’t see, it’s by far the most important.

Because you can fix cracks in the walls, refurbish the rooms and repaint the halls, but you can’t get the foundation wrong if you want any chance of the house standing at all. The structural integrity of a house requires a foundation that is built to last.

I recently heard a Pastor say that love can’t keep a marriage going… he said it takes God and commitment. I think maybe he had a bit of a misunderstanding of what love really means. Because… well, God IS love. And love is commitment. Without both, it certainly isn’t love and it definitely won’t work. People sometimes think Susu led me to God. But it’s not true. God led me to Susu. And He has kept us through it all.

Marrying @adesuaetomi is the 2nd best decision I made in my adult life. The best was re-dedicating my life to Christ.

Susu, I am thankful for you, and grateful to you. You are everything I want and much more than I deserve. You mean the world to me and I intend to spend the rest of my life proving it. I love you now more than ever.
3 years down, I’m looking forward to forever.

I love you. Happy Anniversary Shuga.

“Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud…It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
– 1 Cor 13:4..8

“… and the rains descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”
– Matt 7:26

Adesua shared the same video on Instagram and told Banky that apart from Jesus, he is the light of her life.

She wrote:

Three years? Seems like yesterday. Seems like forever.
Three years with my bestie.
Everyone knows you’re my husband but today I want to thank you for being my best friend.
The most attentive, loving, funny, caring, inspiring friend I have ever had.
I thought I knew how to love but omo, you have schooled me.
I never knew it was possible to be with someone this long and not have it be riddled with tons of fights. I’m glad for our low voiced intense conversations. Lol
You don’t make me feel crazy, I don’t have to yell before I’m heard. I don’t have to worry. I don’t second guess how you feel about me. I know I’m valued, as I should be.
Thank you bubz, for just being a correct human being. For the heart that you have. For being quick to be sorry when you’re wrong (whispers…even when you’re not. Lol) (I do the same sha)
For not putting your ego before us. For giving me a home that’s my safe haven. I’m grateful for the home we have built. I always look forward to coming home and it takes a lot to even get me out of the house. Lol.
God has done the most marvellous things these past 3 years. May he continue to be the 3rd cord in this threefold cord. As long as he lives and he shields and we keep him part of our lives, we will never be easily broken.
Apart from Jesus, you are def the light of my life.
May that light continue to shine brighter and brighter.
You, my darling are a force to be reckoned with and the world will remember your name.
@bankywellington I love you doesn’t seem to suffice anymore but I’ll say it anyway. I love you with every fibre of my being. Let’s do this till we’re old and grey and maybe in heaven too?
