Mikel Obi, Ighalo Arrive Super Eagles Camp In Belgium

Chelsea FC midfielder John Mikel Obi and in form Watford striker Odion Ighalo were the first players to arrive the Super Eagles training camp in Belgium ahead of friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon.

A majority of the coach Sunday Oliseh invitees are expected to hit the team’s hotel in Belgium on Monday, according to Eagles spokesman Oluwatoyin Ibitoye.

All six players from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) have yet to join up as they have been delayed by the non issuance of visas by the Belgian embassy in Nigeria.

Mikel Obi was not named in Chelsea match-day squad for Saturday’s 1-3 home defeat by Southampton, while Ighalo netted his fifth goal of the season away to Bournemouth. The English Premier League duo arrived at The Verviers Hotel, Vervier camp in Belgium on Sunday night.

Nigeria take on Congo DR in Vise, Liege on Thursday at 7pm, before facing Cameroon in Denderleeuw three days later; kickoff time 6pm.
