Manu Garba Rejects ‘False’ Claims He Has Joined Giwa FC

Nigeria Under-17 World Cup-winning coach Manu Garba has refuted claims that he has joined Giwa FC.

The Glo Premier League side severed ties with their former handler Aminu Musa earlier this week, before a tweet from a supposed club Twitter account alleged that Manu has signed for the Jos Elephants and, was even introduced to the squad on Wednesday.

In an exclusive chat with veteran football journalist, Colin Udoh, the coach, who, last June, guided the country to the knockout stage of this year’s Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, described the story as “false.”

“When I was approached by Chris Giwa, I told him the same thing and made it clear to him that if I had wanted to take a job in the middle of the season, I could have joined Kano Pillars, Nasarawa, Kwara United and all the other clubs that approached me,” Manu is quoted as saying on ColinUdoh.com.

“He kept calling me and then said even if I would not take the job, I should come and watch the team’s training session and just give the boys some words of encouragement. That is all that happened.”
