Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley will be sidelined for up to eight weeks with an ankle ligament injury.
The former Manchester United midfielder suffered the injury in a challenge with Eric Dier during his side’s recent goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea visit on Saturday that the 26-year-old will has not suffered a fracture but will miss “six to eight weeks.”
“Knowing Tom and how fit and strong he is, we’re looking at a six-week period,” he added.
Cleverley spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and left United for Everton on 1 July.
