Oliseh Visits Liverpool Winger Jordon Ibe Over Eagles Debut

Sunday Oliseh has held talks with Liverpool FC forward Jordon Ibe about a possible switch of allegiance to represent Nigeria at full international level.

Ibe has featured for the Three Lions at Under-18, 19 and 21 levels but is eligible to play for the three-time African champions at senior level as his father David hails from Nigeria.

Oliseh and his assistant visited the Merseyside club’s Melwood training ground on Wednesday to hold talk with Ibe over his international future.

He has all the room to play for his native Nigeria as he has yet to feature for England’s senior men’s national team.

The Liverpool Echo are however reporting that coach Roy Hodgson could him a cheeky debut so as to quell Nigeria’s long-standing interest on the 19-year-old-winger, who has been a standout member of Brendan Rodgers’ squad in the pre-season and is favoured for a starting role against Stoke City on Sunday.

Nigeria have won the hearts of the likes of Victor Moses, Sone Aluko and Shola Ameobi in the past, despite having previously featured for England at youth levels.
