NYCN Election: APC Has No Preferred Candidate – Nat’l Youth Leader

brahim Dasuki JaloThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from the crisis rocking the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
This is just as the governing party said that it was not backing any of the candidates in the election and will remain neutral until proper elections are held.
National Youth leader of the APC, Dasuki Jalo Waziri, said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
The APC youth leader was reacting to speculations in some quarters that some of the candidates had links with the party.
Mr. Waziri pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari has acknowledged the importance of youths to his administration and has programmes that will address youth unemployment and other challenges facing Nigerian youths.
He also said the supervising youth ministry has not been put in place, stressing that there are laws and guidelines that were put in place to guide the whole process regarding the NYCN activities.
The APC youth leader, therefore, urged Nigerians to disregard some of the aspirants already declaring themselves as the leaders of the council or dropping the name of the APC in a bid to actualize their ambitions.

“There was supposed to be an election for the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) but we all witnessed what happened particularly that the election could not hold because of the crises, but for the reason that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is new, therefore they have to make sure that all things are in place before they can go ahead with the election”, he said.
