Injury Rules Out Heartland Pair Obiazo & Reuben from Eagles Duty

Heartland FC duo of David Obiozo and Nelson Obonnaya have been dropped from the Super Eagles camp through injuries.

Following examination by the team’s medical doctor, it was agreed that both goalkeeper Obiozo and forward Ogbonnaya be excused from the country’s preparation for a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on 5 September.

The coach of the Nigeria senior national team, Sunday Oliseh, is expected to announce the duo’s replacement in due course.

Aside the injured two, a host of the invited 23 players from the domestic league have stayed back at their respective clubs because they are involved in midweek league games.

As at Wednesday morning, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Solomon Kwambe, Chima Akas, Jamiu Alimi, Stephen Eze, Gbolahan Salami, Tunde Adeniji, Bright Ejike, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ifeanyi Matthew, Usman Mohammed, Lordson Ichull, Prince Aggrey and Bright Onyedikachi were in the Eagles’ camp.
