I Wasn’t Arrested In London For Money Laundering – Amosun’s Wife

Wife of Ogun State Governor-Olufunso AmosunThe wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, has dismissed as false, rumours that she had been arrested and detained in London over money laundering to the tune of $300,000.

She debunked the allegation while fielding questions from journalists on Friday shortly after she donated some milk supplement and food items to pregnant women and nursing mothers at the State General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.

The social media had been agog with reports that Mrs. Amosun’s absence from public functions was as a result of her arrest in London.

But speaking at the General Hospital, Ijaye, the Ogun State governor’s wife said she was neither arrested nor detained in London, adding neither she nor her husband would ever get involved in such an odious venture.

She said, “I never did anything of that nature. But as you can see me to the glory of God, it is not my portion; it shall never be my portion and I believe that you know Governor Ibikunle Amosun, I am sure you know he will never be involved in anything that is associated with money laundering or anything negative.

“So, as you said, it is a rumour and it shall remain so. It did not happen, it has not happened and it shall not happen”.

While donating the items, Mrs. Amosun said the supplement for the pregnant mothers, Frisomum, were given to all wives of governors across the country by the President’s wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari, for onward distribution to the expectant mothers.

She also said Hajia Buhari remained committed to the breastfeeding of babies by nursing mothers.
