The body of the victim was said to have started decomposing as it was found four days after his family and fellow tenants had not seen him.

Remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, for postmortem examination after the photograph had been taken.

Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CIID, of the Ondo State Police Command is currently probing the cause of the man’s death.

But it was suspected that Ogundana must have poisoned himself as he was recently sacked from his place of work.

A source informed LEADERSHIP Friday that during the week at about 6:30pm, the elder brother of the deceased, one Segun Ogundana, who resides at, No. 37, Esure Street, Ijoka, Akure, visited his younger brother(the deceased),after several calls made to his phone were not picked.

He disclosed that the elder brother on his visit found the windows and door of the deceased’s apartment firmly locked from within.

It was further gathered that the unpleasant odour oozing out from the deceased’s apartment made his brother to become suspicious as no other tenant in the house was around from whom he could ask of his brother’s whereabouts.

Findings also revealed that his brother (Segun) was the last person to communicate with the deceased on August 18, 2015 through a social media.

LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that when the police visited the scene of the incident, they forced the door of the apartment open and met the lifeless body of the deceased on the bed already decomposing.

Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Wole Ogodo who confirmed the incident said the police have launched an investigation to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the deceased.
