The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited the wives of the Senate President, Mrs. Toyin Saraki and that of the former Kebbi State governor and daughter of late President, Zainab Dakingari, over alleged corrupt practices.

The two women were accused to have used their positions to draw huge sums of money into companies which they have interests while serving as first ladies of their respective states.

While Mrs Dakingari is said to have been invited by the commission to shed light on over N2 billion said to have been misused during her tenure as the state governor’s wife, Mrs. Saraki, is being summoned to explain how huge sums of money strayed into companies said to be close to her.

Dakingari was expected to appear before the EFCC’s crack team of interrogators on Wednesday but she sent in words that she had traveled abroad for Umrah, (lesser Hajj) and promised to report on Monday next week. Mrs Saraki on her part has picked July 28, 2015 to appear before the anti-graft agency.
