Saraki Condemns Borno Boko Haram Bombing

Senate President Bukola Saraki has condemned the renewed Boko Haram attacks, especially now that it is coming during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement yesterday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Senate President, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki also expressed concern that the terrorists attackedĀ on a day the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was in Maiduguri, on behalf of the Federal Government, for on-the-spot-assessment of the situation of the internally displaced persons.

ā€œIt was really a sad day for me to learn that suicide bombers unleashed attack on the people on a day the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo visited Maiduguri to see things for himself and also visit beleaguered families and communities whose lives and means of livelihoods have been adversely affected by the barbaric acts of the insurgents.

ā€œBoko Haram is not invincible and I have no doubt that the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari possesses the requisite political will and determination to decisively fight the insurgents and restore security to affected areas,ā€ he said.
