Man United Reaches Agreement To Sign Bastian Schweinsteiger From Bayern

Manchester United have confirmed it has reached an agreement with German club, Bayern Munich for the signing of World Cup winning midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The 30-year-old Germany skipper is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Premier League club, subject to a medical and personal terms.

Schweinsteiger, who had a year left in his contract at the Geman champions, has accepted a wage increase to join United.

He will become the club’s third signing of the summer, following the arrival of Dutch midfielder Memphis Depay, while Italian full-back Matteo Darmian is expected to fly out with the first team to their pre-season tour of the United States on Monday.

Schweinsteiger, who signed with the Bavarians as a youth player seven years ago, has won the Uefa Champions League, eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cup winner’s medal and the Fifa Club World Cup.

He has been capped 111 times by Gemany since earning his debut in 2004, scoring 23 goals. He was instrumental to Die Manschafft’s triumph over Argentina in the final of the 2014 World Cup, bossing the midfield and orchestrating swift forward play for the German attack.
