Man Covers Girlfriend With Hot Sauce, Attempts To Bake Her In Oven

A man was arrested on charges of kidnapping and assault after allegedly beating his girlfriend and trying to push her into an oven, police in Utah said. Odd News Blog has more:

Sandy police said that they have arrested 31-year-old Joseph Anthony Castellanos, after being accused of punching and kicking his girlfriend while holding her against her will for hours.  Castellanos was arrested around 2:00 a.m. on Friday. He was charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated cruelty to animals and intentional damage to property.

According to the police investigation, the assault began around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. Castellanos came home and was upset that his girlfriend did not visit him at work. Castellanos punched the woman several times in the face and threatened to kill her. He proceeded to urinate on her before covering her with hot sauce and trying to push her into an oven.

Castellanos is also accused of stomping and kicking the woman’s dog. Castellanos caused an estimated $2,250 in damage to a laptop and at least two cellphones. The woman managed to call police using a cellphone that she hid in the bathroom. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
