West Ham United have completed the signing of Pedro Obiang from Italian club Sampdoria.
The Spain Under-21 midfielder, who helped Sampdoria to a seventh-placed finish this season, has penned a four-year deal with Hammers.
He becomes manager Slevan Bilic’s first signing since taking over the job at Upton Park.
“We have been talking about this for a long time and now I’ve finally got the chance to come here,” the 23-year-old is quoted as saying on the club’s website.
“I think Slaven Bilic is a manager that can do very well here. He is a manager that likes to play good football and I really like that so I am sure that we will get along very well.”
Obiang has represented Spain at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels. He scored three goals in 34 games for Sampdoria in the 2014-15 season.
