Saraki’s Victory Proves Politics Is About Negotiation, Not War – Sen. Orji

Theodore OrjiThe immediate past Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, has said the emergence of Bukola Saraki as President of the Senate is proof that politics is all about negotiation, not war.

Orji, who is now Senator representing Abia Central, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday shortly after adjournment of the first session of the 8th Senate.

He expressed confidence that the new Senate President would stabilise the Red Chamber just like his predecessor, David Mark had done.

“What has happened today (Tuesday) has shown us that politics is all about negotiation. It is not war always. When you negotiate, you give and take and things will work out well for us.

“He will stabilise the Senate. That is one of the major functions that he has to do.

“The new Senate President has said it; he will stabilise the Senate and when you stabilise the hallowed chamber, you have stabilised the country”, Orji said.

Giving an insight into the political intrigues that played out yesterday during the Senate inauguration, the Senator said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which he is a member, decided to look beyond the political platform of Senator Saraki, supported his personality and qualities, which was why the party gave him the support.
