Rafa Benitez to Be Unveiled as Real Madrid Boss Today

Rafael Benitez will be unveiled as Real Madrid boss on Wednesday.

The Spanish boss, 55, who confirmed his departure from Napoli last week after a two-year stint, would sign a three-year deal with Real.

He succeeds Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked just a year after he led Real to their tenth Champions League triumph with victory over Atletico Madrid in Lisbon.

“I am enthusiastic and happy, although there are things that still need to be discussed,” Benitez said upon arriving in the Spanish capital.

Real announced on Tuesday that the ex-Liverpool coach will be presented at a press conferecnce at noon on Wednesday.

Benitez had successful spell as coach of La Liga outfit Valencia, where he won Spanish Primeira titles and the Uefa League (now Europa Cup), before arriving in England to coach Liverpool- a club he led to Champions League glory in 2005.

He also led Chelsea to the Europa League title in the 2012-13 season before moving to Napoli.

He guided the Naples club to an Italian Cup triumph in his first season and won the Italian Super Cup the following year.
