It’s Nadal-Djokovic Time in French Open Last 8

As predicted upon release of the 2015 draw for the men’s singles, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will clash in a blockbuster French Open quarter-finals.

The top seed dismissed Richard Gasquet 6-1 6-2 6-3 to take his winning run to 26 games and extend his career head-to-head with the hometown favoirite to 11-1.

The Serb hit 47 winners, surrendering only a total of 6 games the whole contest which lasted for an hour and 19 minutes.

Djokovic need win the French Open to complete a career Grand Slam- the eight man who would ever do so- but first; must take out Nadal, who has only lost once since his debut ten years ago.

Nadal continued his bid for an unprecedented 10th Roland Garros title with a 6-3 6-1 5-7 6-2 win over American youngster Jack Sock. The Spaniard’s win under three hours was his 70th at the clay-court slam, extending to 12-0 his record over Americans in the second Major of the year.

Wednesday’s top-biller coincides with the defending champions’ 29th birthday and will also re-enact memories of his triumph against the world No. 1 last year.

The sixth seed maintains a 23-20 edge over Djokovic from their previous meetings and has won all six of their prior meetings at the Roland Garros.
