Andre Ayew Joins Swansea City on a Four-Year Deal

Swansea City has completed the signing of Andre Ayew on a free transfer from Marseille.

The Ghanaian forward has signed a four-year deal at the Welsh club- subject to Premier League and international clearance.

Ayew has been out of contract since his previous deal expired at the French Ligue 1 club. The deal ends a 28-year-long relationship between the Ayew family and Marseille.

Andre, who rose through the youth ranks at Marseille, made 181 appearances for the French club, scoring 52 goals winning two French League Cups while also appearing in the club’s Uefa Champions League campaigns.

“This is the next chapter,” Ayew told the club website. “I’ve played in the Champions League etcetera, but now I want to make it in the Premier League.

“I am very happy to have signed for Swansea, which is a very good club in the Premier League.

“I can’t wait to get the season started. It’s been my dream to play in the Premier League with a good club.

“Now it’s up to me to do my job, bring what I have to bring to the club because I know they will want a lot from me and expectations will be high. I will work hard and hopefully I can help the squad.

“But I’m ready to do the job and I hope to make every Swansea supporter happy.”

The 25-year-old will wear the number 10 shirt. He will bolster Garry Monk’s attacking options as he can play anywhere along the front line and behind the striker.
