AC Milan Sack Inzaghi, Confirm Milhajlovic As New Boss

AC Milan have sacked Filippo Inzaghi after just a year in charge of the San Siro outfit.

Milan finished in a disappointing 10 position, 35 points behind champions Juventus with just 13 wins in the 2014-15 season.

“Filippo Inzaghi has been discharged of his responsibilities as first team coach,” the club said in a statement.

Former Serbia and Sampdoria coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic has been confirmed as New head coach on a two-year contract. The 46-year-old left the Genoa outfit on 1 June after two seasons at the Stadio Luigi Ferrari.

Inzaghi ended a successful playing career with the Rossaneri in 2012 after a career which spanned 11 years with the seven-time European champions. Following his retirement the 41-year-old took charge of the youth team.

He succeeded former team-mate Clarence Seedorf at the helm of the San Siro in June last year.

Mihajlovic was in charge of another Serie A side, Fiorentina, between June 2010 and November 2011. He took over the head coach of the Serbia national team in May 2012 but failed to guide the side to the 2014 FIFA World Cup after finishing third in Group A of the qualifying series.

One of the best free-kick takers of his playing times, the former defender featured in the colours of AS Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter Milan, where he began his managerial career as assistant to Roberto Mancini.
