New Borno CP Advises Policemen To Keep Barracks, Offices Clean

POLICE-LOGO-300x1872Mr Aderemi Opadokun, the new Borno Commissioner of Police, on Friday advised policemen under the command to keep their barracks and offices clean to prevent outbreak of diseases.

Opadokun gave the advice in Maiduguri in his maiden address to the officers and men of the command.

He pointed out that maintaining a clean environment would boost the image of the force in the eyes of the public.

“It is commonly said that cleanliness is next to Godliness, your image can be boosted by your appearance; that is you are addressed by the way you appear.

“Men and officers of the force must appear neat all the time”, Opadokun said, adding that they should always keep their barracks and office premises clean.

“Dirty environment breeds germs and in turn result to ill health, barracks and offices should be treated like our personal properties”, he said.

Opadokun commended the command’s officers and men for their efforts in fighting the Boko Haram insurgency.

“With my over three decades’ experience, I appreciate the challenges of policing in Borno and the country at large.

“I therefore solicit your cooperation and collaboration as it is commonly said that united we stand, divided we fall”, he said.

Opadokun, who enthused that the nation would thrive over the insurgents, charged: “Let us all contribute our best in the fight against crime and insurgency in Borno.

“We shall succeed by the special grace of God”.
