Tottenham to Decide Adebayor’s Fate Next Week

The Sun (subscription required) reports that Tottenham Hotspur will sit down next week to decide whether Emmanuel Adebayor has a role to play in the club’s immediate future.

Adebayor was granted a commpationate leave two days ago to attend to family issues back in his Togolese hometown.

The striker will therefore not be available for Spurs’ final game of the season at Everton. He will also miss the club’s tour of the Far East.

Adebayor published the latest in a series of lengthy Facebook posts this week in which he revealed he had contemplated suicide because of a family feud.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “This is a different problem. One problem is his private life, the other is the sports side and always we need to take a decision for the future of the club.

“No decision has been made about that yet. We need to take a decision next week.

“I don’t know when we might see him. We are very focused on Sunday and he is focused on sorting his problem.

“We have the chance to finish fifth and we need to put our energy into the match against Everton.”
