Boxing: Kayode Wins Kisner on Points Decision

Nigerian cruiserweight boxer Lateef ‘power’ Kayode dominated Nick ‘slick’ Kisner in a one-sided ten-round bout at the WC Handy Pavilion on Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee, USA on Friday night.

Kayode Power (21-0-0, 16KOs) preserved his unbeaten record with a one-sided victory over the American orthodox, winning by unanimous decision.

Two of the Judges scored a 100-90 win for Kayode, 32, while the third awarded him a 99-91 points decision. Kayode thus retain his NABO belt. He also has the WBO and NABF titles in his kitty.

The fight was the main event of Championship showdown produced by Gren Cohen live on CBS Sports Network with rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis in attendance.

Kisner (14-2-1, 5KOs) offered a glimpse of doggedness in the opening round, but faced Kayode’s revolt in the second. Power sustained pressure in the third and then reduced his opposition to defence halfway through the contest with some barrage of hard punches.
