Danilo to Bernebeu a Done Deal as Real, Porto Reach Agreement

Brazilian right-back Danilo will join Real Madrid at the end of the season from FC Porto on a six-year deal, the reigning European champions have announced.

“Real Madrid and Porto have reached an agreement for the transfer of Danilo, who will join next season and be tied to the club until 30 June 2021,” the club said in a statement.

Porto are quoted in the Portuguese stock exchange as saying the deal is worth €31.5m (£23m).

Danilo, 23, has won two league titles with Porto since joining from Brazilian club Santos in 2012. He played a prominent role in the Portuguese giants’ progress into the last 8 of the Uefa Champions League where they have been paired with 2013 winners Bayern Munich.

A silver medalist with Brazil at the London Olympic Games, he has become a regular with the 2014 World Cup hosts since Dunga took charge following their dismal campaign on home soil.
