ACF Congratulates Okorocha On His Re-election

Rochas-OkorochaThe pan-northern socio-political organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum, on Monday hailed the re-election of Rochas Okorocha as the governor of Imo State.

Okorocha defeated Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, of the Peoples Democratic Party, in the election concluded last Saturday.

In a statement by Secretary-General of the ACF, Col. John Ubah (retd.), in Kaduna on Monday, the Forum also hailed the people of Imo State for standing by a performer and a bridge builder.

The Forum said, “Arewa Consultative Forum heartily congratulates His Excellency, Chief Rochas Okorocha, CON, on his well-deserved victory at the polls to retain his governorship of Imo State for another term.

“ACF equally commends the Imo State electorate for standing by a performing, recognised pragmatic leader, a bridge builder and true, proud son of Nigeria.

“Chief Rochas was the only aspirant, who deemed it necessary to visit ACF before the Presidential party primary, when the ACF leadership unequivocally assured His Excellency of the Forum’s policy to stay behind any northerner who wins his/her party presidential ticket”.

The ACF also urged Nigerians to hold their elected leaders at the just concluded elections accountable in line with their oath of office.

The statement said, “Nigerians choice on March 28, 2015 has vindicated ACF’s stand and we call on all Nigerians to remain steadfast in our faith in one united Nigeria and to give our fledgling democracy a chance to wax stronger.

“All Nigerians must strive to hold our leaders accountable in line with their various oaths of office and constitutional responsibilities.

“As we congratulate all newly elected states governors and legislators, especially those who retain their offices and seats, we hope that all will work hard to justify the confidence and trust reposed in them by their people for the craved change; change of style by leaders and change of attitude by all of us, the governed”.
