Yari Approves Appointment Of New Emir Of Gusau

governor yari abubakarGov. Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara has approved the selection of Alhaji Ibrahim Bello as the new Emir of Gusau in Zamfara.

The appointment of the new emir followed the death of the former Emir, Alhaji Kabir Danbaba, who died last Thursday at the age of 91 years.

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Monday.

Birnin-Magaji said that before the appointment of Bello, he was a registered nurse and holder of Masters Degree in Health Education from University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

He was the Principal, School of Health Technology, Jega, and Executive Director Sultan Abdurrahman School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa both in old Sokoto State.

The new emir was also the Director of Primary Health Care, Ministry of Health, Gusau.

He was a Permanent Secretary in Zamfara from 1998 to 2002 and Commissioner, Ministry of Animal Health from February 2011 to June 2011.

Bello was born on June 12, 1954 in Wonaka Town of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara and grandson of Malam Muhammad Murtala and cousin to immediate past Emir, Late Alhaji Kabir Danbaba.

Bello is the 15th Emir of Gusau and 9th from Malam Sambo Dan’Ashafa’s House, Gusau between 1806 to 1827. (NAN)
