West Ham defender, Winston Reid has signed a new six-and-a-half-year contract.
The deal put an end to the New Zealand centre-back’s rumoured switch to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal or Manchester United.
Reid, whose previous deal was due to finish at the end of the season, said he “felt valued” at Upton Park and praised the Hammers joint-chairman David Sullivan after agreeing to a extension.
“It’s one of those things that took a bit of time, but we got there in the end,” he said.
“He (Sullivan) was clearly very committed to getting the deal done and keeping me at the club, so I’d like to thank him for that.”
Reid joined West Ham in 2010 from Mitdtjylland having impressed at the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
He joins the likes of James Tomkins and Mark Nobles, who have also penned a new contract in the last month.
