Dangote Truck Loses Control, Kills VIO Official, 4 Others In Ogun

Aliko-DangoteA tragic accident involving a fully loaded truck with bags of cement belonging to the Dangote Group, Thursday, crushed to death an official of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) and four others at Ilaro, in Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State.

The truck, which was said to have been loaded with cement from the company’s Ibese depot, was headed to its destination of delivery when at about 1.00pm, the driver lost control at the busy Sabo area of the town ramming into bystanders.

The VIO personnel, whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report, was said to be on duty at the scene when he and others met their tragic end.

The incident sparked a mob action as the offending truck and another which arrived the scene, were set ablaze. Similarly, a police patrol team, which arrived the scene was almost lynched by the irate mob. Their patrol van was however, vandalized.

The remains of the victims have been deposited in a morgue.

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, “Five persons were crushed. The mob set ablaze the vehicle before our men could get there. The corpses have been deposited in the hospital mortuary”.

Permit my word,these Dangote Truck Drivers are animals whenever they are on the wheel they become another being entirely.I dont think there is any proper training or driving ethics highlighted for their mode of operation.Go by history,it’s their Trucks that had high percentage of accident all over the Country.Innocent people are maimed or killed.
    I thank the Almighty God, few weeks ago one nearly ran over me along Sagamu-Papa road,i have to run into a deep pot hole by the side of the road,the useless driver left his lane and face me and he was laughing when he saw that i was already trapped somewhere.
    They need training so that lives of innocent people would be saved in all our highways.DANGOTE should mandate the person in charge of Transport to do something so as to prevent all these loses of human lives.

Please permit my word, Dangote Truck drivers are animals,The rate at which they involved in accidents is very alarming nearly in all our highways.They become another being entirely whenever they are on wheel.One nearly crush my vehicle along Papa- Sagamu road,the man left his lane and faced me.I have to quickly run into a deep pot hole by the side of the road and funny enough the useless animal was laughing when he saw that i was already trapped.I thank the Almighty God.
    Truck driving ethics is not in them at all they need training.
