Alexis Sanchez Out Of North London Derby

Arsenal will be without their forward, Alexis Sanchez for Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Wenger has revealed that the Chilean, who is the club’s top scorer with 12 goals, has yet to fully recover from a hamstring problem.

“Alexis is not ready,” Wenger told Arsenal’s website. “He is not far away, the Leicester game (next Tuesday) is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet! He is training but it’s light training.”

Sanchez also missed the 5-0 rout of Aston Villa a week ago. English striker Danny Welbeck will be the only addition to Wenger’s lineup from last week following a month-long thigh injury hiatus.

The former Manchester United forward has not featured for Arsenal since the 2-1 win over West Ham on December 28, when he scored the match-winning goal.
