QPR Appoint Chris Ramsey As Manager Until End Of The Season

Chris Ramsey has been named Queens Park Rangers’ manager on a permanent basis after taking over as a caretaker following Harry Redknapp’s departure.

Redknapp resigned last week to attend to his imminent knee surgery and Ramsey in his first game in charge of the R’s guided them to a first away win at Sunderland.

QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes said Ramsey “has impressed everyone here in his short time in charge and I firmly believe he is the right man … to lead us until the end of the season.”

Fernandes said club officials spoke to several other interested candidates, but that “none of them were right to take the club forward at this time for a variety of reasons.”

The announcement makes Ramsey the only current black manager in the English top flight.
