West Brom Coach Lauds ‘Unplayable’ Anichebe

West Bromwich Albion coach Tony Pulis has hailed Victor Anichebe for his impact in Saturday’s Midland derby win over Birmingham City.

The Nigeria international struck twice to help the Baggies progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Anichebe has now scored three goals in the competition this season after opening his account in the third round win over Gateshead on January 3 following his return from a groin injury.

Pulis believes there is more to come from the 26-year-old, adding he is a difficult striker to curtail when fully fit.

“Nobody has ever questioned Victor’s ability, the big thing with Victor is keeping him fit and getting him fit,” said Pulis.

“He’s still nowhere near fit but if you got him to that level I’m sure he’d be a handful because first half he was unplayable at times.”
