Super 4: Enyimba Claim Narrow Win Over Wolves

Enyimba international returned to winning ways as they beat Warri Wolves 1-0 on Monday in the Glo Premier League Super 4.

The Federation Cup holders got off to a losing start on Saturday against Flying Eagles, but Ifeanyi George’s spot kick was sufficient to help them keep up chase.

Enyimba are tied on three points with Kano Pillars- 2-1 losers against the Eagles in the second fixture of Match Day 2.

George converted from 12 yards in the 15th minute after Oke Ogahotewho handled the ball inside the goal area.

Enyimba goalkeeper Moses Ocheje saved Stanley Dimgba’s shot in the ninth minute and Bartholomew Igbenegbu’s effort six minutes after the restart.

Wolves came close to leveling scores in the 69th minute, but Ifeanyi Anaemena was quick to clear his lines after Ocheje kept out Ezenwa Otorogu’s shot.

Daniel Akpeyi then saved George’s shot from inside the area a minute later as Enyimba tried to increase their advantage.

Joseph Osadiaye’s free-kick five minutes to the dead was saved by Ocheje.
