Sanogo Wants Bordeaux Loan Move, Says The Ligue 1 Club Boss

Bordeaux are upbeat they will land French striker Yaya Sanogo on a loan deal from Arsenal.

The France youth international, 21, has made just three Premier League appearances this season. Manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on getting him involved in more first-team action and wants to loan him to another English top-flight club.

However, Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud is confident that Sanogo will arrive at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in the coming days.

“We are working on the arrival of Sanogo. He wants to come to us, it’s a certainty,” Triaud told the club’s official news magazine Soir de Foot.

“The goal is to have him for Monaco [who they play on Sunday]. We asked for Arsenal to keep us informed. They had given me as a response date of Tuesday or Wednesday. I explained that I prefer Tuesday.”

Sanogo joined the Gunners on a free transfer in July 2013 and scored his first competitive goal for the club in November 2014 in a Uefa Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal confirmed on Monday that German forward Lukas Podolski has joined Inter Milan on loan for the remainder of the season.
